Fio

2018 . The bathroom is a place for everyday hygiene and beauty rituals but also a space where people want to be practical: find things, use and store them. These observations brought me to the mirror cabinet. Through my research and by looking closer into this kind of typology, I realised it is hard to find a mirror cabinet which is visually appealing, functional and also considers to- day’s use of electric devices and storage needs adequately. I was inspired by the perforated boards one encounters in workshops to store objects or of any kind or seize, where the user can choose his own configuration. To charge the electric devices, Fio includes two plugs and one USB entry. The flexible elements, made of powder coated steel, can store the cables and hang other items. Fio is built with high pressure laminate compact (HPL), an antibacterial material, easy to clean and resistant to humidity. It is available in different surface treatments and colours.
